Mangkokku / Sarinah

MANGKOKKU has been serving comfortable Indonesian fusion delicacies in a wide range of markets for years, and finally opened its flagship store at Sarinah Thamrin Plaza, Central Jakarta.

As the overall interior design intent was to modernize the visual of an authentic Indonesian casual dining restaurant, we decided to welcome the guests with an eye-catching pop of color. The perfect shade of orange that blends in with the sunlight was selected thoughtfully to dominate the space.

To honor the relationship with the color, we carefully combined locally-sourced materials such as flat bricks, woods, rattans, and simplified Javanese-patterned cement tiles. A warm combination of materials that represents culture and tradition.

Final touch of greeneries here and there is believed to give a sense of leisure - preserving an authentic dining experience in a more relaxed atmosphere.
